Hawaii Scrapbook

Honolulu, Hawaii   2000

Just a week, but we crammed a lot in...not a lot of photos, and the ones we had are often bad...this was back in the days of film cameras...no iPhone..

Our first full day we had tickets to a luau.  They picked us up and we went down the Pipeline to a big private luau with food and dancers.  Not a fan of poi.

Took a full day bus tour of the island today...saw a lot..

Today we rented a car and went to the beach...went line dancing that night.

Took a very small plane over to the big island...then got on a bus for the day long tour.

The first stop was at this Orchid factory...

Really short stop at the Black Sand Beach, not any time to swim, just a quick look.

Still on the Island of Hawaii tour..we stopped near the active volcano and watched it pour lava into the sea.  Stopped at where the road ended covered with lava....We also went to the Macadamia nut factory...the nuts did not agree with me at all..

Just two  more days...today we took the city bus (we’d already turned in our rental car) to the Dole Pineapple maze and plantation.  It was interesting...and hey they had Whips...Bob and I were talking at the bus stop and almost missed seeing the bus to take us back to the hotel..

We went to Pearl Harbor...had lunch and toured the ship...Bob also played golf and I went to the Zoo but no photos of either...the zoo was right down the street from our hotel, so I walked.
